IMPORTANT NOTE Please submerge the whole pump head into water to kickstart the suction. Once suction starts you can move about the tank and suck until very low water level and once air enters suction tip the suction will stop.

May not be suitable for your lobster tank or any other tanktype with shallow water from the very beginning becauseyou need certain water depth to kickstart the suction.However, you may try to prime the pump elsewhere (fill the pump head with water, hold and block the suction tip to prevent water discharge, immerse the suction tip to your intended tank, then let go your hand from suction tip and switch on the pump using your other hand at the same time) before you suck your low-level water tank.
