Threadfin Rainbowfish (Iriatherina werneri) Freshwater Decorative Fish Nano Planted Tank Aquarium

Description:The Threadfin Rainbowfish (Iriatherina werneri) is a graceful, peaceful species admired for its delicate long fins, iridescent body, and flowing, thread-like extensions on the dorsal and anal fins—especially prominent in males. Native to slow-moving, plant-rich waters of New Guinea and northern Australia, this species is known for its elegant swimming and shimmering colors that vary under different lighting.Tank Size:Minimum 30 liters (7 gallons) for a small group of 6 or more.Water Parameters:• Temperature: 24 – 30 °C (75 – 86 °F)• pH: 6.0 – 7.5• Hardness: Soft to Medium (4 – 12 dGH)Tank Setup:Prefers a heavily planted aquarium with open swimming areas. Use fine-leaved plants such as hornwort, cabomba, or water sprite for cover and breeding. Maintain gentle water flow and clean, well-oxygenated water. A dark substrate and subdued lighting enhance their natural colors. Avoid aggressive or fin-nipping tank mates, as their long fins are delicate.️ Diet:Omnivorous with a preference for small live and frozen foods such as daphnia, brine shrimp, and micro worms. They will also accept high-quality micro pellets or fine flakes once acclimated. Feed small portions 2–3 times daily, as they have small mouths and do best with frequent light feedings.
