High Grade Cherry Shrimp ( Neocaridina Shrimp ) Planted Tank Decorative Aquarium Shrimp

Description:The Red Cherry Shrimp (Neocaridina davidi var. “Red”) is one of the most popular and hardy freshwater shrimp varieties. Selectively bred for its bright red coloration, this shrimp adds vibrant contrast to planted tanks while helping keep them clean by grazing on algae and detritus. Females are typically larger and more vividly colored than males. Peaceful and easy to breed, they are ideal for both beginners and experienced aquascapers.Tank Size:Minimum 20 liters (5 gallons) for a small starter colony of 5–10 shrimp. A larger tank (40L+) is recommended for stable water parameters and breeding colonies.Water Parameters:• Temperature: 20 – 27 °C (68 – 81 °F)• pH: 6.5 – 7.5• Hardness: GH 4 – 10, KH 3 – 8 (Soft to Medium)Tank Setup:Best kept in a planted aquarium with moss (Java Moss, Christmas Moss), driftwood, and rocks to provide hiding spots and surfaces for biofilm growth. Use fine sand or smooth gravel substrate. Maintain gentle filtration with a sponge filter or shrimp-safe intake guard. Perform regular water changes and avoid copper or chemical treatments, which are toxic to shrimp. Provide stable conditions — sudden parameter changes can cause molting issues or death.️ Diet:Omnivorous scavenger — feeds naturally on algae, biofilm, and decomposing plant matter. Supplement with shrimp pellets, algae wafers, or blanched vegetables (zucchini, spinach, cucumber). Feed small portions 2–3 times per week, removing leftovers after a few hours. Add calcium-based foods (like cuttlebone or mineral blocks) to support healthy molting and shell strength.
