McIntosh MC275 75W Vacuum Tube Power Amplifier KT88 Unity Coupled Circuit — Iconic Made in USA

The McIntosh MC275 is not simply an amplifier — it is one of the most historically significant pieces of audio equipment ever built. First introduced in 1961, the MC275 has been in continuous production for decades and remains the benchmark against which all other tube amplifiers are measured. This is the amplifier that defined what vacuum tube power could sound like in the hands of master engineers. At the heart of the MC275 is McIntosh's proprietary Unity Coupled Circuit output transformer — a design that eliminates the compromises of conventional tube amplifier topologies. Where most tube amplifiers lose power and distort when the speaker impedance differs from the design target, McIntosh's Unity Coupled Circuit delivers the full rated 75 watts per channel into 2, 4, or 8 ohm speaker taps with virtually no increase in distortion. The result is a tube amplifier that sounds extraordinary with any speaker — not just a narrow range of high-impedance designs.Eight KT88 output tubes per stereo pair (four per channel) provide the headroom and dynamic reserve that makes the MC275 capable of driving real-world speakers with real-world music. The 12AX7 and 12AT7 driver tubes shape the sonic character — warm, three-dimensional, harmonically rich, with a midrange presence that no solid state amplifier has ever fully replicated. The MC275 can also be bridged to mono operation for 150 watts into a single channel, making it ideal for bi-amping or dedicated subwoofer duty.Brand new stock from Perfect Hi-Fi — full manufacturer warranty, complete tube complement and all original accessories included.
