McIntosh C22 Mk V Vacuum Tube Preamplifier 7 Inputs MM MC Phono Balanced XLR — Made in USA

The McIntosh C22 is one of the most storied names in high-end audio history. First introduced in 1963, the C22 preamplifier defined the standard for vacuum tube preamplification and became the reference against which all others were measured. The C22 Mk V carries that legacy forward with a fully modern circuit implementation inside the signature retro glass and aluminium front panel that made the original iconic. Winner of the Reference Award from France's Haute Fidélité Magazine, the C22 Mk V is recognised by the international audio press as one of the finest preamplifiers available at any price.Inside, the C22 Mk V uses five 12AX7A and one 12AT7 vacuum tubes in a pure tube signal path — no solid state shortcuts in the audio circuit. The result is the harmonic richness, three-dimensional soundstage, and natural tonal decay that only vacuum tubes can deliver. Balanced XLR outputs swing 16V RMS — enough headroom to drive any power amplifier to full output with abundant dynamics. Total harmonic distortion is just 0.08%, and the signal-to-noise ratio hits 100dB — measurements that rival solid state designs while retaining everything that makes tubes irreplaceable.Connectivity is comprehensive. Seven analog inputs cover every source: two balanced XLR inputs, three unbalanced RCA inputs, and both a moving magnet and moving coil phono input — each independently adjustable for loading and gain. Bass and Treble tone controls let you tailor the sound to your room and taste without detouring the signal through additional circuitry when bypassed. Four Power Control ports automatically switch connected McIntosh amplifiers, source components, and accessories on and off with the preamplifier — a hallmark of McIntosh system integration.Brand new stock from Perfect Hi-Fi — full manufacturer warranty, complete tube set and all original accessories included. The C22 Mk V pairs naturally with McIntosh tube power amplifiers including the MC275 and MC1502, but performs equally well driving any high-quality solid state amplifier.
