My first reaction when I got it was to touch the stick, and there wasn't a single splinter, seriously. The clear coat is super even, and it feels really smooth. I've bought those cheaper sticks before, the ones that scratch your hands after a couple uses, but this one is totally different. When I use it for my neck and shoulders, my skin just glides back and forth against the stick, so smooth, no rubbing or redness. They really paid attention to the details, and it's worth the cost.

To be honest, I was initially drawn in by its looks. Once it was varnished, the wood grain really popped, looking far from some cheap, industrial product. When I got my hands on it, I found it wasn't just good-looking, but felt great too, no cheap plastic or rough feel. I usually keep it in the living room corner, and it's easy to pick up for a quick shoulder and neck stretch. My wife also thinks the quality is good and occasionally uses it to loosen up her shoulders. For a fitness stick, this is pretty good.
