Compared to standard designs of equivalent weight and tooth count,the new ratchet design increases the engagement surface area by 38%. This results in significantly enhanced load-bearing capacity and more stable power transmission, distinguishing it from ordinary flat-faced ratchets where the teeth are distributed in a simple concentric pattern. In conventional designs, the overall force distribution exhibits a block-like, quasi-annular, and linear trajectory, with stress levels reaching approximately 630 MPa. In contrast, our new GOLDIX ratchet features a tooth profile with a flat surface that is angled tangentially toward the base circle; consequently, the overall force distribution follows a conical, centripetal trajectory. This guided design enables the pawls to engage the ratchet teeth more smoothly and precisely, resulting in a faster engagement process, significantly reduced free travel, and a more direct power response.
